The best meatloaf recipe

Meatloaf is one of those things that I thought was gross as a kid but now love as an adult and is apart of my weekly meal rotations. It’s extremely simple, anybody can make it! It’s also protein packed and will be sure to fill you up.

This is a recipe I keep going back to over and over. Why? because it’s so easy! It takes less than 15 minutes to make and it’s a dump & go recipe. Dump all the ingredients into a bowl and bake in the oven and just like that dinner is on the table.

Why you need to make this recipe

  • It’s so simple to make. Even if you don’t consider yourself a good cook, you can’t mess this up.
  • It’s a healthy protein packed meal. Add some potatoes and vegetables as a side and you have a perfectly balanced meal.
  • It’s cheap to make, with just a few affordable ingredients.
  • It has a good amount of servings. It will feed your large family or you can have leftovers for the days ahead.

Ingredients:

Ground meat – Beef or venison work. I personally use venison because my husband is a deer hunter

Bread crumbs – Store bought or homemade

Onion – Half of a diced onion

Italian seasoning

Garlic powder

Egg

Milk

How to make meatloaf

Step 1: Dice your onion. Then add all of the ingredients to a large bowl

Step 2: Mix with your hands. It’s the only way.

Step 3: Transfer mixture to a aluminum foil lined sheet pan and form into a loaf. You can also use a loaf pan but I prefer a sheet pan for a crispier outside.

Step 4: Bake in a 400° oven. Bake for 25 minutes without topping. Then add your topping and bake for another 10 minutes. Make sure internal temp is 160°.
