Beef Fried Rice with homemade yum yum sauce

My beef fried rice is the perfect easy weeknight meal to make because it’s a one pan dinner and comes together in just 30 minutes. Made with one of my favorite sauces, Bachans Japanese BBQ sauce. Top it off with homemade yum yum sauce and you’ll feel like you just got takeout from your favorite Asian restaurant.

As deer hunters we end up with pounds and pounds of ground meat so I have to get creative with what kinds of meals to make with it. I do traditional meals like hamburgers, meatloaf, and meatballs, but this fried rice is something different for us!

Why you’ll love this recipe

  • One pot meal – Saves on dirty dishes because everything is made in the same pot!
  • Can be made in just 30 minutes – perfect for a busy night
  • Protein packed – the beef adds so much good healthy protein to this meal
  • Flavorful – my toddler even loved this!

Ingredients you’ll need

1 pound of beef or venison – We have an abundance of venison in the fall/winter so I use venison but a lean ground beef will work just fine too.

Rice – I like white jasmine rice. The texture is best for recipes like this. You’ll want day old rice or rice that was cooked earlier in the day and cooled down.

Vegetables- Onion, peas, carrot

Seasonings – a mix of seasonings that gives this its flavor

Bachans Japanesebbq sauce – I LOVE this sauce. It’s perfect in this recipe. You can also use G Hughes Sugar free Japanese bbq sauce for a sugar free option.

Homemade yum yum sauce
  1. Add all of the ingredients to a small bowl and mix well.

Notes

Day old rice works best for this. Or made earlier in the day and placed in the fridge for a couple of hours.
You can get minced ginger in a tube, it’s so convenient.
The yum yum sauce gets better as it sits in the fridge, so if you can, make it ahead of time to let the flavors deepen.
