I absolutely love oats in dessert. If you are like me check out my carmelitas recipe!
Why you’ll love this recipe
- Quick & easy – just mix, press ingredients into a pan and bake.
- Adaptable – use your favorite jam in the center for different flavors!
- Whole grain nutrition- Freshly milled whole grains are much better for you than a store bought white flour.
- low sugar- I use a smaller amount of sugar in these but they are still plenty sweet with the jam filling.
Jam bars ingredients
Soft White Wheat – One of my favorites for baked goods
Butter – a must for a shortbread crust
Your favorite jam – I love my homemade strawberry jam, but any jam works
Oats – for the oat crumb topping. I love the One Degree brand
Sugar – for a little bit of sweetness
vanilla extract & almond extract – my 2 favorite combos
